11 solar-powered water stations —— 8 natural water-cooling units

In the first half of 2025, Hadhreen Sudan undertook urgent water rehabilitation efforts to meet one of the country’s most pressing needs: access to clean and reliable water.
With support from Hadhreen UK donors, we successfully rehabilitated 11 solar-powered water stations across the states of Khartoum, Sennar, Al Jazirah, and River Nile, restoring full functionality through civil repairs, solar system upgrades, and water quality improvements. In addition, a new station was constructed in Dinder, Sennar, ensuring clean water access for communities previously left without safe supply.
Recognising the intersection between water and health, 8 natural water-cooling units were also installed in public schools. These units operate without electricity and provide safe, cool drinking water for students—promoting both hygiene and classroom attendance in high-temperature environments.
To our partners and donors in the UK: thank you for making this work possible. Your continued support strengthens our ability to serve communities through locally led and climate-smart responses.
